Thanks for the reminder💫

Today I was listening to a podcast titled 'Diary of a CEO' and the guest speaker Chris Williamson mentioned not to forget to do the weekly blog post and so here I am. We have a Social Innovation & Citizenship group assignment due in 2 weeks. I am satisfied with the amount of work I have put in yet I always feel that I did not do enough. I'm excited because the end result will be a culmination of all our work and input. This is the challenge, simplifying a complex problem and presenting it so that anyone can understand what we are trying to prove or convey.

I also started reading a book, provided by our lecturer Dr. Nike Romano, called ' Design, When Everybody Designs An Introduction to Design for Social Innovation'. It blew my mind as it covers ideas and concepts that I have never thought of before. It also dives deep into the possibilities of social interaction and how members of society can actively engage with each other with the goal of producing outcomes that are sustainable and rewarding for all participants. It covers many complex structures that range from beginner to expert and how participants can get involved and develop the areas of their commune or city that leads to change for good. This change can be in welfare, economics, feeding or entertainment where pockets of skilled practitioners can share their experience and contribute their knowhow for the good of everyone involved.

This is screen grab from one of the models explained in the book. It is very interesting and it opens up my mind to the possibilities of what can happen in the world when people, who wouldn't necessarily work with each other, engage with each other and work towards goals that are beneficial for all participants. I am flooding my brain with information, it feels like a process of rejuvenation and seed planting. Learning is a journey and I hope to attain knowledge that will benefit me, my family, my community and the world through active participation and application.
